Sunset - Warners Bay

These were taken a few weeks ago but I have been busy with other things and so didn't put them up straight away.

Back then we were experiencing the longest heatwave I have been through since I was a kid.  Day after day of unremitting temperatures over 43 celsius.  Basically, I hibernated in the air conditioned comfort at home!

I did venture out at the end when the temperature dropped to a comfortable 35 though.  I went down to Lake Macquarie where I hoped there would be a breeze off the top of the lake to cool me down.  Of course, I took my camera!

It seemed that others had that exact same thought also; sit on the lake shore catching the cooler breeze and watch the sunset over the water.

One couple had the right idea.  They sat at the end of the Jetty with some food and drinks!

Daena & Jess - The Main Event

Such a special day for Daena & Jess.  A day to celebrate their love and pledge themselves to each other

The weather was just a little warm (36 celsius at Pokolbin!) but there was a beautiful blue sky, puffy floating clouds and a cooling zephyr that gently fanned away the worst of it.

Daena & Jess looked stunning in their beautiful dresses from Brides on Broadwater.  The ceremony was conducted by a family friend, highlighted by exchanging vows and rings and the binding of wrists with a braided cord to symbolise unity; the binding together of their lives and the union of their hopes and desires.

The brides, bridesmaids & flower girls were made up by Kylie of Gloss & Hair Makeup.  Flowers by Blue Bird Florist at Cessnock

The ceremony and reception was held at Peterson House at Pokolbin in the picturesque Hunter Valley.  A great venue with many places for a keen photographer to use!  The food and service was second to none!

I wait eagerly for the day when good people like Daena & Jess, who are so much in love, can have their union recognised legally in Australia.
