Early Morning Sunshine

This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind... let it be something good.

From the East comes the sun,
Bringing a new and unspoiled day.
It has already circled the Earth and
Looked upon distant lands and
Far-away peoples.

It has passed over mountain ranges and
The waters of the seven seas.
It has shown upon laborers in the fields,
Into the windows of homes,
And shops, and factories.

It has beheld cities with gleaming towers,
And also the hovels of the poor.
It has been witness to both good and evil,
The works of honest men and women and
The conspiracy of knaves.

It has seen marching armies, bomb-blasted villages
And "the destruction that wasteth at noonday."
Now, unsullied from its tireless journey,
It comes to us,
Messenger of the morning.
Harbinger of a new day.

Bathroom is complete and a new Record!....

Yes blog followers, I have set a new record on my Flickr Photo site......679 hits in a 24 hour period.   I am absolutely bloody gobsmacked!!   The photography is going well [as you have seen in previous posts].   I am considering getting some enlarged, framed and going to some type of markets with a stall to see if anyone would be interested in a purchase or 2.    It's something I have to look into.

The family are all doing well apart from some minor colds etc.   Lachlan has announced that he will probably move out around November.   He has a mate up here he went to school with.   David joined the RAAF and his first posting is Williamtown, so he and Lachlan get to hang out quite a bit.   Kim n I will miss him around the home but this is something that he needs to do to kickstart the next phase of his life.

We finally have the main bathroom renovation finished!!  The shower screen was installed on Friday and the joint looks 100% on the old one!!   I will post some photos of the finished product soon but in the meantime, here are some interim photos before the shower screens were installed.   This Tuesday they start on the ensuite.   Once that is completed we only have a few rooms left to paint and then the transformation will be complete - we will have stamped our own mark on our new house, and we will have a bit more 'leisure & pleasure' time !!! [nudge nudge wink wink !]
Kim n I went for a day trip to Morpeth the other day.  Lovely little village about 40 mins drive away.   Had a great lunch and shopping day!   It is a small but very popular place with great restaraunts and cafes' and quirky little gift & food shops!

All I can think of now is......come on warmer weather....the beach....daylight saving......BBQs...all those good things that come with spring and summer!

Hope you are all well and enjoying life.

Mr Percival goes for a Swim

I watched this Pelican swim for ages around the lake shore, up to the boats, around to the boat ramp and past the jetty. Got some good shots of him but think this is the best.

Sunrise - Royal Motor Boat Club - Toronto

Couldn't resist the reflection of the Boat Office here on the water. The morning was perfect; water so calm giving a mirrored finish and not a cloud in the sky!

I could not imagine many more places where you would wake up to such a magnificent view and total peace. This old Boat House has seen better days but is so beautifully picturesque against the backdrop of the Lake!

Went out at the crack of dawn this morning to score some great photos of the sunrise on Lake Macquarie at Toronto. Old mate comes puttering over in his tinny and goes to the Boat Club with a towel over his shoulder. About half an hour later he returns with a fresh set of clothes on, hair wet and slicked back looking very refreshed, jumps into his tinny and goes 'home'. What a life ........ I think I am jealous.

Spied these sheds across the river. I love B&W photos. Used the burn tool on the clouds to get a great effect!

Taken from a park on the banks of the Hunter River. An old wooden bridge which is being gradually replaced. I converted this to B&W using an infra red tweak in Photoshop Elements. It really highlighted the bridge which had the sun shining off it.

Snapdragons at Morpeth

Morpeth is this lovely village in the Hunter Valley. Restaraunts, Antiques, food & wine tasting. The buildings date from decades past which add to the unique quaintness of the village. Here in the park on Swan St the Snapdragons were in full bloom on one of the sunniest days the area has seen for quite a while.

Kim and I spent a leisurely day there today, shopping, browsing and of course - EATING! It was a wonderful day!

Roll on Summer!!!

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here today.   Not a cloud to be seen!

We are halfway done with our main bathroom reno now.   Wall and floor tiles are down and they just have to be grouted.   We have chosen well with our colour - they look great!

We are short of  a child for the next 10 days.   Lachlan and his girlfriend, Miranda, have taken off on a holiday to the Gold Coast [lucky buggers!]  Hope the weather holds out for them; it's a great place to be.   They have a unit on the 5th floor just across from the beach [with views!] and are just a very short walk to Cavill Ave and all the shops.

We are all reasonably well; Kimbo has picked up a cold from somewhere which is leaving her feeling a little miserable, and it looks like Rhiannan may follow suit.  Kasey visited Morpeth yesterday with a friend and went to the annual Chocolate Fair.   She brought home some divine tasting fudges!

I have not been up to much of late.   Work & sleep!   I go for a run on my days off and try to get out with my camera; got 5 days off starting Wednesday and the weather had better hold out for that or else!!

I have started work on a website called 'Jordy Productions'.   It's a free website where I can show off some of my photos.   It is not a bad idea but I have to add a counter to it to see how many hits it gets.   I have included a link here so take a look............. Jordys Productions   You can click on a photo in each slide show and it will enlarge it; from there you can manually scroll thru each photo within that slide show and read the captions.   Hope you like it!

Anyway that's it for now......gotta ring Mum and say gidday and then go for a run, have some lunch and then off to bed for a snooze before going to work a nightshift!

Hope you're all well.

Luv

Jordy
