Celebrating 40 Years

 

Kim and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary in July with a short trip away to Church Point on Pittwater, North Sydney.

It is a beautiful place, as you will see.  The pristine waterways of Pittwater (a protected Estuary), constant boat movements, plus the scenic beauty of the area really made for a wonderful time away.  In the middle of Pittwater is Scotland Island, home to about 700 permanent dwellers.  There is no bridge from the mainland to Scotland Island and so the people who live there either catch a Ferry or have their own small boat to get them to and from.  The Church Point Wharf is a very busy place!

We stayed at the Pasadena Sydney Motel which was very nice and we had a great view over to Scotland Island over the water.  

Our favourite place to eat was at the Waterfront Cafe and General Store which was right next door to the Pasadena.  The food and service there was sooooo good!

I recommend that you visit here in the off season as during School Holidays and Summer, I can imagine that the place is very busy!

Scotland Island (top right) from the Church Point Boardwalk.  The small boats you can see
are owned by the residents of Scotland Island who pay for a permit to have a mooring here.

The Waterfront Cafe and General Store has an outdoor area and under roof Restaurant.  It has
great food, the service was really good and, it was just nice to sit, eat, have a glass of wine
and watch the boat movements on the water!

Above and Below - we sat on a bench with a Coffee on the Boardwalk.  The
Pasadena Sydney Motel was host to a Hens Party.

Palm Beach is just up the road from Church Point.

Change Rooms and Toilets on Palm Beach.

There are Public Wharves scattered all over Pittwater and at Palm Beach.  Some Ferries
go North through the estuary and into Broken Bay, where the Hawkesbury River
system meets the sea. If you want, you can catch a Ferry and have a lovely day out!
