Newcastle on Ilford via Bronica ETRSi
I loaded this film into my Bronica ETRSi some time ago.
Unfortunately, before loading, I didn't make a note of what type of film it was!
I know for a fact that it was an Ilford film; I remember that much!
Usually, the negatives of the film will have the name and type of film printed on them but all this had to offer was Ultra 100. I have Googled Ultra 100 and it has come up with various responses for Ilford and other brands also.
I am thinking that it was an Ilford Delta 100 because these photos meet all of the criteria of that film.
I did have a look at my light meter on my phone and saw the the ISO had been locked at 125, so, was the film possibly an Ilford FP4 plus? I then realised that I would have used ISO 125 on the light meter because the Bronica does not have an ISO 100 setting, the closest it has is 125.
Anyway, it was a black and white film with some lovely contrast and fine grain for sharpness. The photos have some very dark places so maybe I could have shot using a little over exposure.
The Bronica is a Medium Format Film 645 Camera. I can get 15 exposures from 1 roll of film I put into the Bronica. However, I only got 14 exposures from this film. At one stage the film didn't appear to be winding on properly and so I gave it an extra turn so I didn't end up with an unwanted double exposure.
I love to use the Bronica, albeit that it takes me a while to adjust to the waist level viewfinder and the way it presents the scene through the lens! Because there is only one mirror in the camera, the scene through the viewfinder is correctly upright but reversed left to right. This makes for a little bit of experimentation whilst composing the shot.
My next film up on here will be an expired Kodak 400 Max, a film that came in the camera bag of another recent film camera purchase; watch this space!
