A Good Excuse!

I can't believe that I have not posted anything for 3 months!

It's not that I have been having a Photographers Block or anything like that.

I've been busy painting my daughter's house!

About 3 years ago, my daughter bought a house. It is something that, as a single girl, she should be immensely proud of! Two bedrooms and 1 bathroom with 1 car garage.

I painted the inside just after she bought it and then turned my attention to the outside. The outside really needed freshening up! The outside walls looked like the house had not been cleaned or even hosed down in the 14 years, or thereabouts, of its lifespan.

My wife and I started painting the outside last year. She is my trusty sidekick and will load brushes and rollers and hand them up to me whilst I am up the ladder. This saves me getting up and down that ladder a million times a day! We did all of the 'hard bits', gutter, fascia and, eaves before Christmas last year. When Summer actually kicked in, we had to hang up the brushes and rollers because we had constant heatwaves of the mid 40s (Celsius) and it is not good trying to paint when the walls are as hot as the inside of an oven.

In February, we started on the Window Frames and then progressed onto the outside walls. I admit to having a few small touchups to be completed!

Anyway, we have finished the majority and have yet to put 2nd coat on the front and get a start on the final, north east side.

So there you have it.

I didn't forsake my photography though. We went to a wedding in the Kiama area in March and I managed to get some lovely photos from down there; it is soooo green! I also put in 2 films to the lab after getting out to the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival.

So you see, I have been attending to my photography but, not updating the Blog here.

I have some news on my Dads old Voigtlander Bessa 1 folding camera. It would be at least 70 years old by now and the levers etc are getting a bit stiff and there is a tiny pinhole in the bellows. I have sent it away for a well earned clean and service. I was a bit nervous about doing that but it does need it and honestly, I think that Dad would be really happy to know that it was still being used!
